Having a Best Friend Story: A Story Highlighting the Beauty of Having a Best Friend

Once upon a time, there were two best friends, Rohan and Rahul. One day, they decided to go to the beach for a walk. After they had walked for a while, they had an argument.

‘You’re not listening to what I’m saying!’ yelled Rohan at his friend.

“I can say the same about you”, screamed Rahul.

That was the moment that Rohan lost his cool, and slapped Rahul on the face. Rahul was stunned. How could his best friend have slapped him? He felt extremely hurt, but didn’t let his feelings show. Instead, he simply bent down and wrote on the sand with his finger:

‘Today, my best friend slapped me.’

Rahul and Rohan walked on, and they finally reached the inviting waters of the blue ocean. They took off their t-shirts and went into the water for a dip. They seemed to be enjoying themselves, until Rahul made his way back to the shore and suddenly found himself slipping into the sand. It was obvious that he had stepped into quicksand!

Rohan was in a state of panic, seeing his best friend screaming for help. However, he managed to keep his composure and made his way to the area where Rahui was gradually sinking even deeper into the sand. Careful not to step into the sand himself, he reached his hand out to his best friend, and asked him to trust him. Then he pulled with all his might. For a few moments it seemed as though he might actually be saving Rahul, until his friend started sinking in again. However, Rohan persisted with all his might, and finally, Rahul was out of danger.

When both of them were back to breathing normally again, Rohan took a sharp rock that was lying nearby, and made his way to a large stone on the shore. Using the rock he wrote on it:

‘Today I saved my best friend’s life.’

Rahul asked his bestie why he had written the earlier message on sand, and this one on stone. To this Rohan replied,

“That’s because when someone performs an act of cruelty it must be written on sand, so it can be blown away with forgiveness. That being said, a deed of goodness should be etched onto stone, so the wind can never blow it away.”

Finally, Rohan and Rahul hugged each other tight, before going back to their respective homes.

In the end, both best friends realized the value of true friendship. They understood the importance of having people around, who really care about each other no matter what.
