Feed the Monster Game

One of those Monster Games for Kids, that is a hit with all children! Tell them they are going to be ‘feeding a monster’, and watch their eyes light up in fascination!

What you need

  • Scissors
  • Markers
  • A large box poster board
  • 2 Cotton Balls
  • Painter’s tape
  • Open box
  • A large newspaper

Instructions

  • Take the poster board and cut the shape of a monster out of it. To this, you want to stick the cotton balls as the ‘eyes’ of the monster.
  • Cut out a large hole on the monster’s face, to serve as its mouth.
  • Tape an open box to the monster’s back. This is where the monster’s ‘food’ will go.
  • Cut out small sections of the newspaper and crumple them into tiny balls. This is the monster’s food.
  • Place the monster a few feet away. Then tell your child to ‘feed it’ by throwing balls into its mouth. Count how many times they can throw the ball successfully into the monster’s mouth!

What you Need

  • Monster Mask
  • Blindfold
  • Lots of children!

Instructions

  • Choose an area of your house, like your backyard, for the kids to play the game in. You want to ensure it is free of any obstacles. Cordon off the playing area with a rope.
  • Gather the kids in a circle, and have them choose who will be the first ‘monster’. Hand that child the blindfold and mask, and ask them to wear it.
  • The players have to stand around in a circle, while the ‘monster’ wanders around in its center, making ‘growling’ noises, The children in the circle in turn must growl back and hold out their hands.
  • When a child is touched by the monster, he/she is tagged and now becomes the new monster!

Monster Color Sorting Game

Monster Games for Kids can be fun and ‘educational’, too! This one makes for a great Monster School Game.

What you Need

  • Blank papers of different colors
  • Googly eyes with colors that match the paper hues (at least 6 per color.)

Instructions

  • Using images that you can get for free from the Internet, print out different images of Monsters, one on each of the diffefrently-coloured sheets of paper.
  • Have your child pick out ‘googly eye’ from all the googly eyes kept aside in a bag..
  • Have them say the colour of the google eye out loud, and then place it on the sheet of paper with the corresponding colour.
  • Let them finish off, by taking another google eye of the same colour from the bag, and sticking both googly eyes on the monster’s face!

Playdough Monster Fun

Who can create the ‘scariest’ monster? Turn this simple playdough activity into a wonderful game. One that involves monsters, of course!

What you need

  • Playdough in all the colours you can find
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Googly eyes
  • Buttons
  • Straws
  • Small paper triangular cutouts

Instructions

  • Let your kid and their friends go wild molding that playdough into the best possible monsters they can create.
  • Give them tips to make ‘scary’ monsters. Like, using plenty of buttons for more ‘eyes’, or pipe cleaners for plenty of ‘arms’ and ‘legs’!
  • After all the children have created their monsters, give one of them a prize for the ‘scariest’ monster!

Monster Car Hide and Seek

This is a Monster Car Game your children will want to play time and again!

What you need

  • Blank sheets of paper
  • Some crayons

Instructions

  • Draw some images of cars on each paper, each with the head of a Monster.
  • Hide the Monster Car Images all over the house. Including one ‘under the bed’, of course!
  • Let your child go wild trying to see how many Monster Cars they can find!
